Mapping the solid-state battery landscape (2026)

Reviewed by Dr. X (University Y)

Despite being one of the most active areas of battery research, solid-state batteries remain one of the hardest to compare, with papers often reporting the headline result without the conditions behind it. This dataset compiles 34 solid-state battery papers published open access between 2021 and 2026, covering 297 experiments from 25 labs. For each experiment, we recorded the full setup (the materials, conditions, and outcome) in a standardized format, with every value linked to its source sentence in the paper. Where a paper does not state a condition, the table states it honestly rather than filling it in.

1 Uses log scale

Across 57 reported values, the median ionic conductivity at room temperature is 1.00 mS/cm. The middle half of values falls between 0.34 and 1.82 mS/cm, and the full range runs from 0.0014 to 4.70.
